Luke Whitaker took on the role of General Manager for Reedsburg Country Club in May of 2017. He attended Eureka College in Eureka, IL, double majoring in Business Administration and Political Science. Starting in his last semester of college, he began what would become his career in hospitality and he quickly fell in love with the industry. He gained nearly 8 years of experience at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, IL where he achieved the title of Clubhouse Manager before making the move to RCC.
Luke loves everything about the club nearly as much as he loves his beautiful wife, Jessica and three children, Paxton, Reagan and Dalton. Although extra time is rare, he does love to get out on the golf course with his members and guests whenever he can, but don't expect a scratch round. Don't be surprised if you hear a movie quote from Luke, with one of his favorite movies being "Tin Cup", one of Roy McAvoy's top quotes is "... when a defining moment comes along, you define the moment... or the moment defines you."
Head Golf Professional
In 1997, Bob earned his PGA Class A membership. Over the past 20 years at Reedsburg Country Club as PGA Head Professional, Bob’s passion has been to foster a love of the sport among members, juniors, and guests and to help them improve their golf game. He has attended numerous national and local PGA teaching seminars in his continuous ambition to improve his own game as an educator.
The National First Tee Program at RCC was started in 2013; with Bob’s guidance, the program proudly serves over 150 youth golfers ranging from 4-17 years old, making it one of the largest in Wisconsin. The program's focus is to instill core values such as respect, honesty, and sportsmanship in the youngest generations of golfers while seamlessly teaching them the technical skills they need to become successful players.
In 2017, Bob was awarded the PGA Youth Player Development Award for the state of Wisconsin. This award is given to one Wisconsin PGA professional who is deemed a leader in junior golf and who reflects the ideals of those who work with youth players.
When he is not at RCC, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife Heidi, the Chief Inspirational Officer (CIO) for #SocialSchool4EDU, his daughter Hannah, a 20-year-old junior at Groningen University in the Netherlands, and his son Eli, a 15-year-old sophomore at Reedsburg Area High School.
Todd Cramblit moved to Reedsburg, WI in January 1995 for an Assistant Superintendent position at Reedsburg Country Club. Formally, he was employed at Bishop’s Bay Country Club in Middleton, WI. There his time was spent building knowledge of golf course maintenance and construction. At the same time, he was attending the University of Wisconsin Madison to attain his Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management (December 1994).
In 2001 Todd assumed the Head Superintendent position at RCC. He has seen numerous changes in his twenty-four-years working at the course, from a new Maintenance building in 1998 to just recently, our new Clubhouse. As far as the course goes many changes have been made as well. Holes 1 thru 3 were altered to expand the range. New green on #17 and the redesign of the green surrounds on holes #9 and #18 were also completed. One of the most impactful changes was the replacement of the old hand operated irrigation system to the computer-controlled irrigation system he uses today. The most recent modifications to the course have been the new putting green, additional tee boxes, and improvements to hole #5. Todd looks forward to continuing to make improvements at the Reedsburg Country Club.
Outside of work Todd and his wife Sharon enjoy doing projects around the house and in the yard. In their free time, they like watching movies or documentaries and also enjoy spending time with friends and family. One of the things they have really enjoyed lately is attending Pub Trivia at the clubhouse with friends. Both are avid UW Badger fans and enjoy cheering on the Packers on a Sunday afternoon. Todd has always been a true outdoorsman. One of the things he looks forward to every year is traveling to a friends’ ranch in Kremmling, Colorado. There he enjoys hunting elk and mule deer with a close group of friends.
Travis was born in the Reedsburg area and moved to Arkansas at a young age and lived there until moving back in 2002 at the age of 12 with his mother who was his first culinary mentor. At the age of sixteen he got a job at Christmas Mountain at Mulligan’s Bar and Grill (then it was called Pinewood Bistro) under Chef Nate Pawli. He worked with several skilled culinary artists and this stirred his interest in the professional culinary arts.
He attended the University of Wisconsin Baraboo for 2 years studying Liberal Arts. After Chef Nate left Pinewood Bistro, Chef John Sage took over the kitchen and Travis worked with him for 5 years at Mulligan’s. Chef John left Mulligan’s to work at Springbrook’s Northwoods Bar and Grill under Chef Mark Obois as Sous Chef. John brought Travis with him and it was here that Travis really started developing his love of food. Under Chef Mark and John he worked his way up to Lead Line Cook and eventually Sous Chef over 5 years at Springbrook. During those 5 years, Chef John, Travis and the kitchen staff of Northwood’s Bar and Grill entered and won the Taste of the Dells 2 years consecutively and went on to build the social media presence of Springbrook with such creations as the Monster Bloody Mary.
Desiring to move on and forge his own path, Travis decided reluctantly to leave his mentor of 10 years and come to House 1924 at the Reedsburg Country Club under Chef Tom Millot. After Tom’s departure in late summer 2017 Travis took up the mantle and has been running the kitchen ever since. He is constantly seeking to expand his knowledge and learns new techniques everyday. He has an incredibly talented and dedicated staff at the Reedsburg Country Club and seeks to improve the Club in anyway possible. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and recording music with his band and painting.
